History

PKP Energetyka has been active on the Polish market since 2001. Our roots, however, reach back to the early 20th century.

1927

Start-up of a 600 V line en-route from Warsaw to Grodzisk Mazowiecki.

1936

Initiation of electric operation of the line from Otwock to Warszawa Pruszków.

1937

Electrification of other lines of the Warsaw Rail Junction.

1945 - 1952

Rebuilding the damaged lines of the Warsaw Rail Junction.

1952 - 1994

Electrification of the railway line (approx. 11,400 km).

1990

Commencement of provision of power services as part of the Polish State Railways (PKP).

2001

Establishment of PKP Energetyka.
Signing the deed of incorporation of PKP Energetyka.
PKP Energetyka obtains a licence for electric power trade, transmission and distribution throughout the country.

2004

Commencement of energy sales based on TPA.

2005

First contract for electric power supply under TPA (with Grupa Żywiec S.A.).

2008

PKP Energetyka becomes a Distribution Network Operator. Establishment of the Fuel Division in PKP Energetyka.

2009

PKP Energetyka transformation into a joint stock company (S.A.). Establishment of the Trade Division and the Distribution Division in PKP Energetyka.

2010

Development of business activity and preparations for privatising the company.
PKP obtains a licence for liquid fuel trading at railway fuel stations.

2013

PKP obtains a licence for gas fuel trading.
Establishment of the Services Division in PKP Energetyka and separation of the Sales Department.

2014

Commencement of privatising of PKP Energetyka.

2015

Completion of privatising of PKP Energetyka.
