Children’s’ Day is not over

Does your child want to become a railwayman? Love trains? Is your child interested in locomotives, air-conditioned rail cars? Does he or she dream of meeting a railwayman, wearing the train guard’s hat and waving the signal flag? If yes, let your youngster celebrate another Children’s Day this year and come and visit Railway Technology Days on Sunday, June 13th!

This year’s Railway Technology Days will be held in four cities: Warsaw, Gdańsk, Częstochowa and Gliwice.

In Warsaw, Railway Technology Days are held on June 13th at Warszawa Zachodnia railway station (entrance from Tunelowa St) from 10:00 to 17:00 The programme includes theatre performances “The Legend of the Wawel Dragon”, "Bremen Town Musicians", dog training show and self-defence martial arts performed by Railway Security Guards as well as quizzes and competitions. The exhibited rolling stock will include electricity emergency service, LRB 25 railroad vehicle, UNIMOG vehicle, maintenance train, truck-mounted crane, HUSARZ locomotive, the latest Cegielski 158A passenger rail car, SM03 series locomotive, WZT2 armoured tractor, UNIMAN vehicle and 508A conference rail car. The list of attractions includes a night tour through the city tunnel and a locomotive simulator. With special focus on the children, the organisers have envisaged an educational game that teaches the aspects of safe electricity habits and why it is worthwhile to travel by train. In addition, children will have the chance to go down the slide, take part in painting contests, check their abilities in arm wrestling and construct structures using giant blocks.

In Gliwice, Railway Technology Days will be held on June 13th at the PKP main railway station from 10:00 to 17:00 The programme includes an orchestra performance, theatrical performance “Pan Twardowski”, dog training show and self-defence martial arts performed by Railway Security Guards, art contest and family quiz “What do you know about railways?”. The exhibited rolling stock will include EDK80/3 crane, maintenance train, 4AXE vehicle, UNIMOG vehicle, lab vehicle, emergency rail trolley, ET22 electric locomotive, EU07 locomotive, SM31 diesel locomotive and 2nd class modernised rail car. With special focus on the children, the organisers have envisaged an educational game that teaches the aspects of safe electricity habits and why it is worthwhile to travel by train. In addition, there will be slides to ride down, participation in painting contests and arm wrestling competitions. There will be an exhibition of models of locomotives and rail cars in the station hall.

In Gdańsk, Railway Technology Days are held on June 13th at the Gdańsk PKP main railway station from 10:00 to 17:00 The programme includes orchestra performance, theatrical performances “The Wolf and the Hare” and ““Legend of the Knyaz Popiel and Piast Kołodziej”, competition series, dog training show and self-defence martial arts performed by Railway Security Guards. The exhibited rolling stock will include maintenance train, 4AXE vehicle, measuring vehicle, UNIMOG vehicle, ET-22 locomotive, ST-44 locomotive (the so-called Gagarin), Hais freight wagon, modernised EN 71 0-45 car, Husarz locomotive, sleeping rail car, VIP buffet rail car and rescue train with a tank. With special focus on the children, the organisers have envisaged an educational game that teaches the aspects of safe electricity habits and why it is worthwhile to travel by train. In addition, there will be a chance to visit the traffic control room, climb the clock tower and go on a ride along tracks usually unavailable for passenger trains. Kids will be able to go down the slide, take part in painting contests and arm wrestling competitions.

In Częstochowa, Railway Technology Days are held on June 13th at Plac Rady Europy in front of the PKP main railway station from 10:00 to 17:00 The programme includes theatre performance "Plait of Wisełka Princess” and "Sleeping Beauty”, contests, dog training show and self-defence martial arts performed by Railway Security Guards. The exhibited rolling stock will include maintenance train, 4AXE railroad vehicle, electric power lab car equipped with a thermal imaging camera, WM15 motor rail trolley, UNIMOG vehicle, APOLLO sprayer, ET22 electric locomotive, SM 42 diesel locomotive, EU-07 locomotive, 2nd class rail car and a type 507 conference rail car. With special focus on the children, the organisers have envisaged an educational game that teaches the aspects of safe electricity habits and why it is worthwhile to travel by train. In addition, there will be a chance to visit the traffic control room at Częstochowa Stradom and the Railway History Museum. Kids will be able to go down the slide, take part in painting contests and arm wrestling competitions.
