Licence for PKP Energetyka S.A. extended

The Energy Regulatory Office has extended the validity of licences granted to PKP Energetyka S.A. for the trading and distribution of electricity. Based on the decision, the company will be entitled to run business operations in those areas until 31 December 2030.

When determining the licence period of validity, the President of ERO considered the timeline of the document “Energy Policy for Poland by 2030” adopted by the Council of Ministers on 10 November 2009, which offers projections related to the development of the situation on Poland’s energy market by the year 2030.

”It’s very good news for the company” says Tadeusz Skobel, President of the Management Board of PKP Energetyka S.A. ”We have just been granted by the Energy Regulatory Office the licence for trade in liquid fuels (fuel oils) at rail refuelling stations, thanks to which we can enter into a new market as early as July 20th. Now that we have received a decision extending the validity of our licences for trade and the distribution of electricity, we are convinced the company shall grow and prosper at least until 2030. I am sure we are going to live up to expectations.”
