RPZ Niewiadów is operational

On Wednesday, May 12th, at 12:00 sharp, PKP Energetyka S.A. celebrated commissioning of the latest investment project, RPZ 110/15 kV, including a double overhead line operated at 110 kV, located in Niewiadów near Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Łódzkie Province. The opening of the facility, worth nearly 18 million, was performed by Janusz Baranowski, Director at the Entrepreneurship Department of the Provincial President’s Office in Łódź, Włodzimierz Goździk, the Head of Ujazd community, and Tadeusz Skobel, President of the Management Board of PKP Energetyka S.A.

RPZ 110/15 kV means a switching supply point, which is a transformer/switching station, where the voltage is reduced from 110 kV to 15 kV. Electricity is supplied via two independent lines (Tomaszów, Łaznów), ensuring complete safety of the supply. The double overhead line operated at 110 kV (7,791 m long) was erected to ensure power supply for the station. RPZ 110/15 kV Niewiadów is fitted with two transformers (110/15 kV, 16 MVA each), a 110 kV switching substation in H5 configuration and a 24-bay MV 15 kV switching substation. The station is fitted, among others, with an energy quality recording system.

The 110 kV line was designed and constructed by ELFEKO based in Gdynia, and the 110/15 kV station was designed and constructed by the consortium with ELEKTROMONT 1 based in Konin as the leader.
RPZ 110/15 kV was erected mostly for the purpose of nearby glass works owned by Euroglas. Station parameters allow future connection of further consumers.

”We’ve earned the trust of major customers, who appreciate the professional experience of our employees” says Tadeusz Skobel, President of the Management Board of PKP Energetyka S.A. “We are capable of rapid completion of even the most demanding tasks. We erected the RPZ in record time, connected it to the 110 kV double overhead line, and now we supply energy to our important customer. We are proud to support their operations in this way.”
