108 rail cars of fuel from PKP Energetyka S.A. in 2010

Once the licence was obtained in 2010, PKP Energetyka S.A. dynamically began to take action. The company sold 6,000 cubic metres of fuel oil at the company’s refuelling stations within a period of four months.

In 2010, PKP Energetyka S.A., at its seven railway refuelling stations, sold 6,000 cubic metres of fuel oil to rail carriers. Once converted, the amount corresponds to 37,700 barrels or 108 rail cars.

In 2011, PKP Energetyka S.A. will commence to sell fuels at another two railway fuel stations. This means that the company will offer its services in Kamieniec Ząbkowick, Węgliniec, Białymstok, Tarnowskie Góry, Jaworzna-Szczakowia, Rybnik, Gdynia, Lublin and Poznań.

“Perspectives associated with diversification of revenues are optimistic and strengthen our belief that entering into the market was a good decision for the company” says Tomasz Skobel, President of the Management Board of PKP Energetyka S.A. “Within four months in 2010, we sold a large amount of fuel, providing all carriers with equal access to the services. This year we are going to focus on continuation of the services to other carriers in the railway market and begin an investment process to provide access to our services in new locations” he continued.

PKP Energetyka S.A. entered into the new fuel market as soon as a licence for liquid fuel trading at railway refuelling stations was obtained in Q3 2010. The first stations owned by the company started to sell fuels to rail carriers last year in September.
