PKP Energetyka S.A. is testing new posts

Between 17 and 22 February, PKP Energetyka S.A. will construct new pre-tensioned concrete spun poles along line no. 061 (the route from Kielce to Częstochowa). Tests of new support structures manufactured in Poland will take a year.

Beginning on Thursday, February 17th, employees of PKP Energetyka S.A. – the Electric Power Work Plant in Słotwiny – are going to erect new pre-tensioned concrete spun poles (type ETG) along the route from Małogoszcz to Ludynia (line no. 061 from Kielce to Częstochowa). The task will take five days.

These are the first posts of this type, constructed by a Polish company, Strunobet-Migacz based in Włoszczowa. Railway engineers will test them for a year. The pre-tensioned concrete spun poles are more durable, environmentally-friendly and less expensive, compared to the currently used metal and concrete support structures.
