PKP Energetyka – results from trade in energy after the first six months

During first six months of 2012, PKP Energetyka sold a total of 2.89 TWh of electricity. The company’s new Sales Director announced further growth and strengthening of the position of national leader among  alternative suppliers.

PKP Energetyka S.A. presented the results of the Electricity Trade Division for first six months of 2012. During that time, the company sold 2.89 TWh of energy, which means nearly 8% growth
as compared to results from the first six months of 2011, i.e. 2.68 TWh. Also, the volume of energy sold to customers on TPA basis increased - in this area, the company result for the first six months of 2012
was 1.16 TWh, 23 % growth as compared to a similar period of last year, when TPA customers purchased approx. 0.94 TWh. After the first six months of 2012, the customer base was nearly 56,000.
”The efficient use of the possibilities offered by the liberalized energy market is among the critical elements of PKP Energetyka S.A. operations. As demonstrated by latest results of the company, such an approach is successful, and increasing volume of energy sales under TPA allows us to strengthen our position as the largest alternative nationwide energy supplier”says Wojciech Szwankowski, member of the Management Board and Sales Director in PKP Energetyka S.A. ”Our major goal for the upcoming years is expansion into new business areas, aiming at the diversification of revenue sources and further growth of our customer base” adds Wojciech Szwankowski. 

PKP Energetyka results for Q2 2012:
- 1.44 TWh of electricity sold;
- 0.65 TWh of electricity sold under TPA;
- 1.39 TWh of electricity sold to business customers;
