150,000 lights will illuminate Warszawa Centralna station

On December 10th, the facade of the Warszawa Centralna station will be decorated with Christmas illumination prepared by PKP Energetyka. The city landmark will be illuminated by 150,000 lights.

Spectacular illumination with Christmas motifs, stars and greetings, appeared on the facade as early as last year. Decorations were created using top quality elements in energy-saving LED technology. Residents and visitors alike will be able to admire the illumination until the end of January 2014.

”Illumination of the Warszawa Centralna station is another in a series of our city beautification efforts focused on giving the city a more friendly appearance” says Monika Żychlińska, PKP Energetyka spokesperson. ”Such an approach proved itself by the illuminated mural on the wall of the traction substation “Warszawa Zachodnia”, presenting the panorama of Warszawa, well-received by travellers. I am convinced that both the mural and holiday illumination of the railway station will bring joy to railway passengers and to all persons who care about city aesthetics.

Illumination prepared by PKP Energetyka is the largest structure of this type installed at any European railway station. It consists of over 9 km of conductors, and the length of the entire structure is 120 m.
