PKP Energetyka starts integration through sports

The role of sports in daily work was appreciated by PKP Energetyka S.A., which commenced a special programme intended for employees. The company has decided to investigate sports habits of the team. The survey of company employees will indicate the direction in which the programme will be heading.

The latest issue of the internal magazine “Dobra Energia” published a survey in which company employees are asked to tell which sport disciplines enjoy the most following. The survey results will provide information on how PKP Energetyka S.A. could support and develop sports initiatives in the company, as well as whether or not the employees are interested in participation in organised sports activities. The respondents were also asked to indicate their current sports activities and whether or not such sports activities are organised by regional plants. Survey results will allow meeting employees’ expectations with regard to the support of an athletic lifestyle.

”From my perspective, sports are not only a great pastime and the opportunity for team integration” said Wojciech Szwankowski, member of the Management Board and Sales Director at PKP Energetyka S.A. ”Sports have great impact on employees’ health and psychological condition, which obviously translates into work quality” he added.

The survey also asks to indicate which sport discipline is most interesting to the employees. The respondents may choose between football, volleyball, basketball, tennis and chess, or to specify another discipline.

The purpose of the programme is to use sport’s potential to build great relationships in teams; thus, it is of critical importance to determine in which sports the company employees participate most often. A joint effort, combined with sports emotions and the spirit of competition, is supposed to improve team integration.
