PKP Energetyka’s wall mural in Warsaw wins the Media Creator competition

The wall mural created in November 2013 at the Warszawa Zachodnia traction substation in Warsaw, presenting a Warsaw panorama, won the Media Creator competition in the non-standard project category. The handpainted mural (dimensions 15 m x 9 m) is illuminated at night by means of an effective neon. The work of art was created by the initiative taken by PKP Energetyka.

The mural is located at the building of the traction substation owned by PKP Energetyka S.A. at ul. Armatnia in Warsaw. The mural can be admired by passengers of almost 800 trains passing by the building every day. The painting shows, for example, the National Stadium, the Palace of Culture and Science, the Świętokrzyski Bridge, Warsaw skyscrapers and a Pendolino train. It was created by artists from Good Looking Studio, responsible for projects such as the project “Following the paths of Marie Skłodowska-Curie” and the mural commemorating Frédéric Chopin; the murals can be admired at Tamka St in Warsaw It took 6 days to create the mural.

“We are glad to see that the mural created by our initiative has been given such a prestigious award. We are even happier to know that the artwork has been very well accepted by Warsaw residents and those visiting our capital city. We receive many positive comments from people who have seen the mural,” says Monika Żychlińska, Director of the Communication and Promotion Office in PKP Energetyka S.A.

The Media Creator award is presented to companies in the transport industry. The competition is aimed at awarding projects featuring a special and innovative approach to communication.
