Where trains don’t go

During this year’s Railway Technology Days, held on Sunday, June 13th, in Gdańsk, Gliwice, Częstochowa and Warsaw, you can see the railway’s “kitchen”, enjoy a family picnic, watch trains and talk to railway professionals. Among the major attractions, one deserved special attention – a sentimental journey from Gdynia, via Gdańsk, to the corporate station of Lotos Kolej, held one day earlier, on Saturday, June 12th.

On Saturday, June 12th, at 10:19 sharp, the SKM train takes all interested visitors for this sentimental rail journey. During  the journey, free of charge, the train will make stops at the following stations: Sopot (10:28), Gdańsk Oliwa (10.33), Gdańsk Wrzeszcz (10:38), Gdańsk Główny (10:44), Gdańsk Olszynka (11:10) up to the destination – the siding of the Lotos Kolej facility (11:15).

At the destination, the station of Lotos Kolej, the latest locomotives, Traxxx and Maxima, will be presented, as well as back-up facilities for locomotives and a number of other attractions. After about a 2-hour visit, participants will embark on the return journey.

The most persistent participants will be rewarded with “a treat” – a visit in the remote control room of the SKM line and in the computer-assisted control rooms serving the Gdynia Główna station.
