More and more electricity from PKP Energetyka S.A. goes to TPA customers

PKP Energetyka S.A. finished Q1 2012 with the total volume of sold energy at the level of 1.44 TWh. Such a result gives  more than an 8 percent increase, compared to the same period in 2011. More than 55 percent of the volume accounted for electricity sold outside the electric traction. Thanks to the strategy taken and the efficient use of the possibilities offered by the TPA (Third Party Access), PKP Energetyka S.A. is nowadays the largest competitive supplier of electricity in Poland, compared to large consolidated energy groups, which have their own sources of energy generation.

PKP Energetyka summarised the 1st quarter of 2012 within the electricity trading. The volume of energy sold in that period amounted to 1.44 TWh, which, compared to the amount reached in
the 1st quarter of 2011, i.e. 1.32 TWh, is an increase by more than 8 percent.

 The range of PKP Energetyka activities and the position as the largest competitive supplier of energy, which we are currently holding, speaks for obtaining energy from new sources that will provide our consumers with the guarantee of supplies, and us with a higher effectiveness of the activities says Tadeusz Skobel, President of the Management Board of PKP Energetyka S.A..

802.4 GWh, which is over 55 percent of the total volume, accounted for electricity sold for non-traction purposes. Thanks to the efficient use of the possibilities provided by the sale of electricity on the basis of TPA rules, consumers of this group received more than 514 GWh. This is a significant improvement compared to the same period in 2011. – an increase in volume by 28 percent

– A nationwide distribution network and an offer adjusted to individual consumer groups are bearing fruit in the shape of ever larger volumes of electricity sold on the market beyond the railway one” says Tadeusz Skobel. ”The results recorded by PKP Energetyka S.A. in the 1st quarter of 2012 strengthened the company's position as the largest competitive supplier of electricity in Poland” he adds.

All of 2011 PKP Energetyka S.A. achieved the following results:

- almost 5.4 TWh of electricity sold, of which over 3 TWh, that is as much as 56 percent, was a non-traction energy;

- 951.5 GWh of non-traction electricity sold in the framework of master contracts;

- nearly 52,500 customers.
